REGGIE WORTHY
Berlin-based American bassist continuing a four-decade touring legacy across the United States and Europe.
Born in Shelby, North Carolina and raised in gospel and blues traditions, Reggie Worthy’s musical foundation was shaped through church, family, and community before expanding in Plainfield, New Jersey within the P-Funk and rock movement.
After relocating to Los Angeles, he joined the Ike and Tina Turner Revue as a bass player, touring internationally and performing on major stages worldwide, including appearances at the New Orleans Superdome. This marked the beginning of a career spanning more than four decades across American and German music scenes.
Throughout his career, Worthy has performed and recorded with artists including Udo Lindenberg, Eric Burdon, Inga Rumpf, Falco, Patrick Gammon, and US Five, establishing himself as a respected presence in blues and rock circles.
Selected recording credits include work with Eric Burdon (Fire Department), Udo Lindenberg (Bunte Republik Deutschland), Patrick Gammon (Don’t Touch Me), and Ike and Tina Turner (Philadelphia Freedom).
Primarily a bassist, he is also a guitarist, drummer, and keyboardist, bringing a deep ensemble sensibility to both studio and live performance.
Today, based in Berlin, he continues to tour and collaborate across Europe. He performs with Stefan Stoppok’s band, tours with the Hamburg Blues Band, and co-leads the acoustic soul project Worthy/Zeplin with singer Ina Zeplin.
His work connects performance legacy with cultural continuity, drawing from the lineage of gospel, blues, funk, and rock as living traditions.
